When new methods become available we strive to offer them.
Spermicides, birth control pills, contraceptive patch, NuvaRing, DepoProvera, diaphragm, natural family planning and emergency contraception provide birth control but do not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS. The use of a male or female condom with every act of intercourse can help reduce your risk of contracting a STI.
If your birth control method failed (i.e. condom broke, forgot birth control pills, etc) you are at risk for pregnancy. In this case, Emergency Contraception (EC) is an option for pregnancy prevention. EC is effective if taken within 120 hours (5 days) of unprotected intercourse and is available at Health Awareness.
